Sharing Failure in Science or Everything That Gets Left Behind in Research and Doesn’t Get Published (And What To Do About It)

Yes, we all know how the academic publishing system doesn’t welcome negative results, failed experiments, and in general, everything that doesn’t appear neatly finished, successful, relevant or promising for future application. But we know that research is a bit messier than that. Instead of complaining, let’s do something about it. At JOTE, we’ve started to compile different initiatives like ours, that welcome not only negative results but also orphaned studies, rejected grant proposals, replication studies, unexplainable results, interesting initial observations, rejected papers – in short, hidden knowledge.
